چکیده

The descendant set desc(α) of a vertex α in a digraph D is the set of vertices which can be reached by a directed path from α. A subdigraph of D is finitely generated if it is the union of finitely many descendant sets and D is descendant-homogeneous if it is vertex transitive and any isomorphism between finitely generated subdigraphs extends to an automorphism. We consider connected descendant-homogeneous digraphs with finite out-valency, specially those which are also highly arc-transitive. We show that these digraphs must be imprimitive. In particular, we study those which can be mapped homomorphically onto Z and show that their descendant sets have only one end. There are examples of descendant-homogeneous digraphs whose descendant sets are rooted trees. We show that these are highly arc-transitive and do not admit a homomorphism onto Z. The first example [5] known to the authors of a descendant-homogeneous digraph (which led us to formulate the definition) is of this type. We construct infinitely many other descendanthomogeneous digraphs, and also uncountably many digraphs whose descendant sets are rooted trees but which are descendant-homogeneous only in a weaker sense, and give a number of other examples.

Classification of some countable descendant-homogeneous digraphs

For finite q, we classify the countable, descendant-homogeneous digraphs in which the descendant set of any vertex is a q-valent tree. We also give conditions on a rooted digraph Γ which allow us to construct a countable descendant-homogeneous digraph in which the descendant set of any vertex is isomorphic to Γ. 2010 Mathematics Subject Classification: 05C20, 05C38, 20B27

Digraphs with Tree-like Descendant Sets

We give certain properties which are satisfied by the descendant set of a vertex in a primitive distance-transitive digraph of finite out-valency and provide a strong structure theory for digraphs satisfying these properties. In particular, we show that there are only countably many possibilities for the isomorphism type of such a descendant set, thereby confirming a conjecture of the first Aut...

The classification of finite and locally finite connected-homogeneous digraphs

We classify the finite connected-homogeneous digraphs, as well as the infinite locally finite such digraphs with precisely one end. This completes the classification of all the locally finite connected-homogeneous digraphs.

Set-homogeneous directed graphs

A directed graph is set-homogeneous if, whenever U and V are isomorphic finite subdigraphs, there is an automorphism g of the digraph with Ug = V . Here, extending work of Lachlan on finite homogeneous digraphs, we classify finite set-homogeneous digraphs, where we allow some pairs of vertices to have arcs in both directions. Under the assumption that such pairs of vertices are not allowed, we ...

Homogeneous 2-partite digraphs

We call a 2-partite digraph D homogeneous if every isomorphism between finite induced subdigraphs that respects the 2-partition of D extends to an automorphism of D that does the same. In this note, we classify the homogeneous 2-partite digraphs.
